Abstract
This contribution localizes and analyses the mechanisms that religiousness put in practise along the droughts occurred in 1700-1760 in the City of Mexico. Likewise, we will pay attention to the used intercessors, the sponsors of the facts and the agricultural cycle periods in which the divine intercession was mostly used. The obtained results are related to the farming situation. Finally, the existing duality in the capital of New Spain is exposed when it comes to celebrate prayers due to the lack of rainfalls.
