Guerrilla and paramilitary groups in the Colombian Caribbean region, 1998-2005

Abstract

There is not much work exploring what happened in Colombia when guerrillas and paramilitaries met in time and place. This work investigates this interaction along the Colombian Caribbean region. This, taking as a period of analysis, the dynamics of guerrilla violence and territorial presence, between the appearance of paramilitarism of the United Self - Defense Groups of Colombia, from the end of 1997 until its complete demobilization, in 2005.
