ABSTRACT: Trade relations between the kingdoms of Majorca and Castile were marked by the constant struggle of the kings of Castile to reduce to a minimum the trade between Majorca, Granada and the Marinids. Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Cádiz were two important ports of trade for the commercial traffic between Seville and Majorca. However, Algeciras, from the time it was conquered in 1344 and until it fell again into the hands of Granada in 1368, became the main centre of operations for the Majorcans, to the detriment of Cádiz.
