OPEN ACCESS AND PRESERVATION POLICY

The Editorial Universidad de Sevilla publishes all its journals in open access (OA). All contents are distributed under a license CC-BY-NC-SA, the text of the licence is available here: legal text

You can consult the ISSN database for open access journals at the following link.

The journals under the supervision of the Editorial Universidad de Sevilla, hosted in the domains https://editorial.us.es/es/revistas y https://revistascientificas.us.es, are assured a secure and permanent archive thanks to the automatic back-up of their contents every 24 hours by the university's IT service.

All articles published in EUS journals are deposited in the institutional repository, IdUS, whose preservation policy ensures:

  • Content will be checked regularly to preserve its integrity, security and durability.
  • Content will be transformed into new formats when deemed necessary (based on the same security and durability criteria).
  • Software emulations will be provided, where possible, for access to formats that cannot be migrated.
  • Regular backups of the complete idUS content, including data and metadata, are performed regularly.

PKP Preservation Network

Our journals are supported by PKP and their development PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which allows journals to be digitally preserved in OJS. LOCKSS offers decentralised and distributed preservation, perpetual access without interruption and preservation of the authentic original version of the content. PKP PN ensures that journals that are not part of any other digital preservation service (such as CLOCKSS or Portico) can be preserved for long-term access. For further details on PKP PN, click here: descripción general de alto nivel.

The NP is an open access system to all OJS journals, being more attractive to journals that do not have the resources to be part of a preservation service in exchange for a financial benefit. It is also attractive to journals that place additional value on "open access". PKP Preservation Network is secure, and is run by PKP (a non-profit organisation), which uses an open source infrastructure (LOCKSS), and welcomes not only new journals, but also new storage partners and collaborators.
