Abstract

The Andalusian location of four works by Mercedes Formica (1913-2002) is analyzed in this article. She was an Andalusian narrator from the generation of '36, and there were four cities that marked her life, Cadiz, Seville, Cordoba and Malaga. The plot, customs and historical aspects described in her work need that urban décor; it is not the typical landscape from a tourist brochure or travel literature, but rather it is a spatial frame that generates ways of being, attitudes and identities.
