Abstract

El recrudecimiento de la Guerra Fría durante el gobierno de Ronald Reagan trajo consigo la doctrina Reagan y el apoyo estadounidense a las dictaduras conservadoras centroamericanas, provocando una oleada de refugiados que llegó hasta Estados Unidos. Ante las deportaciones llevadas a cabo por la administración, se produjo un movimiento social de inspiración religiosa, pero no confesional, denominado Sanctuary, de importantes consecuencias jurídicas y políticas.
