Abstract
The article analyzes the missionary action carried out by the Jesuit and franciscan order of the Chilean Government during the period 1765 and 1771, on the southern border of the Spanish Empire, with the aim of establishing the possible criticisms that arose as a result of the missionary work of the Society of Jesus, both before and after the estrangement, being the synod and the missionary strategy the main centers of criticism
