About the Journal

The International Journal of the History of Communication was established in 2013 as an initiative of the Association of Communication Historians (AsHisCom), an organization founded in 1992. Since 2016, the journal has been jointly published by AsHisCom and the University of Seville Press, with its editorial office based at the University of Seville.
The journal is dedicated to the digital publication of research studies on the historical development of communication, with a particular emphasis on Europe and Latin America. Since 2018, it has been published through the Open Journal System.
The journal is issued biannually and operates on a non-profit basis. It features an Editorial Board composed exclusively of members of the Association, and a Scientific Advisory Committee that includes leading experts from Europe and the Americas in the field of Communication History. We guarantee an objective, impartial, and transparent review process, using an external expert evaluation system based on the double-blind peer review methodology.
