ABSTRACT: The by-laws (ordenanzas) of 1352, which regulated silver mining in the County of Prades and Barony of Entença (Catalonia), have been found. These were the third set of by-laws issued by Pedro de Prades, following those of 1344 and 1348. However, they were not, in truth, new as they simply reformed the second chapter of the by-laws of 1348, relating to the regulation of the system and percentages of the division of the silver (ore and metal) between the count and the miners. Consequently, as and from 1352, the miners were obliged to give one fifth of all silver mined to the count.
