RESUMEN: En este trabajo se dedican algunas páginas a un personaje de enorme interés, Lope Conchillos,secretario de Fernando el Católico y hombre todopoderoso en el recién creado Consejo de Indias,así como al estudio de la fortuna, procedente en gran parte del Nuevo Mundo, que supo conseguir utilizando a fondo los resortes del poder indiano que el rey Católico le había confiado.
ABSTRACT: This paper undertakes the study of Lope Conchillos, a very interesting and important person, who was secretary to Fernando el Católico, and had immense power in the Consejo de Indias. The paper also studies his fortune, which he accumulated in the New World, through the shrewd use of the power bestowed on him by the king.
