Las elites rurales en la edad media como objeto de estudio. Un recorrido historiográfico / Rural Elites in the Middle Ages as an Object of Study: from the Margins to the Centre of the Historiographical debate.

Resumen

RESUMEN: Desde hace ya algún tiempo la atención de los historiadores se ha centrado en las diferencias internas que recorren la sociedad rural dejando atrás la visión de unas comunidades campesinas homogéneas y compactas. En este sentido, la realización de las XXVII Jornadas Internacionales de Historia de la Abadía de Flaran en septiembre de 2005 y su posterior publicación en 2007 de las actas bajo el título Les élites rurales dans l’Europe medievale et moderne es un buen ejemplo de cómo el tema de las élites rurales se ha consolidado dentro de las líneas de investigación historiográfica rural europea. El presente trabajo trata de analizar cuál ha sido la evolución que ha hecho posible la construcción de este objeto de estudio en la historiografía medieval europea, con especial atención al ámbito hispánico.

ABSTRACT: During the last years historians have focused on the internal differences of the rural society paying attention to the wealthier families of the community. In relation with this, the XXVII International Congress of History of the abbey of Flaran in September 2005 and its subsequent publication Les élites rurales dans l’Europe medievale et modern (2007) proofs the interest in this issue of the rural European historiography. The present paper examines the process of the consolidation of the rural elites as topic in the medieval historiography since the Marc Bloch’s works until our days.
