ABSTRACT: Through the study of the documentation found in the Archives of the Notaries Public in Zaragoza, this article analyses society in Aragon during the conflict known as the War of Dos Pedros, which took place during the third quarter of the 14th century. It examines the attitude of groups with relation to the defence of the kingdom, the relationships existing between the ‘universidades’ or municipal groups and mercenary companies, and finally, the confrontations that arose and their repercussions on the conflicts latent among the population of the kingdom.
