Abstract
RESUMEN: El presente estudio analiza la acción perniciosa del río Guadalquivir sobre la ciudad de Sevilla a través de un documento inédito que narra la inundación por crecida del río en el año 1626. Se pretende resaltar la importancia de estas fuentes como observatorios para la historia urbana y para el estudio de los efectos de los desastres naturales a escala política, socio-cultural y económica durante Antiguo Régimen.
ABSTRACT: The aim of the present work is to study the adverse impacts of the Guadalquivir River on the city of Seville through an unpublished document about the flood in 1626. It is intended to highlight the importance of these kind of sources as observatories for urban history and to identify the effects of the natural disasters in a political, socio-cultural and economic level during the Early Modern period.
