Abstract

ABSTRACT: Taking Fichoz as an example for the development of a database for historical research, some keys for the creation of this type of database will be presented. A first theoretical section will expose the two levels for the development of a base of these characteristics. The initial phase, implemented during the data entry stage supported by a summarized ontology that provides information segmented into a series of systematically described actions based on four purely formal criteria: who, what, where, when and, in some cases, with who. A second stage, introduced later, annotating and developing, if necessary, each of the actions described in the first layer, using, where appropriate, more complex ontologies that allow precise descriptions. The second half of the work shows examples of the segmentation of archival information and its exponential improvement in data processing, management and subsequent analysis.
