Abstract

ABSTRACT: The present publication aims to analyze a source of great value for studying the social and familial networks existing in the spanish Royal Palace: the marriage records of the Royal Chapel. Establishing the chronological framework during the reign of Charles III (1759-1788), this article seeks to make a first approach to the same funds though an overall analysis. Although it has gone unnoticed in historiography, it is resolved as a tool that can favour the further development of other fields related to history. Moreover, it is suggested that this examination may offer new nuances in order to deepen our knowledge of the different families and groups that participated in this reality in the second half of the 18th century.
