Abstract

The following paper approaches the relationship between the Spanish poet Jorge Guillén and his grandson Antonio Gilman Guillén, observed in the letters the poet sent during the years 1948 until 1962. These letters show the influence the poet had in his grandson’s upbringing, education and personal and professional development, specifically during Antonio Gilman Guillén’s childhood and teenage years, through three fundamental aspects: his Spanish legacy (the language and the literature), the trips they did together and the respect the poet felt for his grandson since a very early age.
