OPEN ACCESS AND PRESERVATION POLICY

The Editorial Universidad de Sevilla publishes all its journals in open access (OA). All content is distributed under a CC-BY-NC-SA license. You can review the legal text of the license here.

You can consult the ISSN database for open access journals at the following link.

The journals managed by the Editorial Universidad de Sevilla, hosted on the domains https://editorial.us.es/es/revistas and https://revistascientificas.us.es/, are ensured a secure and permanent archive thanks to the automatic daily backup of their content, performed by the university's IT service.

  • All articles published in EUS journals are deposited in the institutional repository, IdUS, whose preservation policy guarantees:
  • Regular integrity, security, and durability checks on the content.
  • Content migration to new formats when deemed necessary (based on the same security and durability criteria).
  • Emulation of software for accessing formats that cannot be migrated, whenever possible.
  • Regular backups of the entire IdUS content, including data and metadata.

PKP Preservation Network

Our journals are supported by PKP and its development, the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which enables the digital preservation of journals in OJS. The LOCKSS program offers decentralized and distributed preservation, uninterrupted perpetual access, and preservation of the authentic original version of the content. PKP PN ensures that journals not part of other digital preservation services (such as CLOCKSS or Portico) can be preserved for long-term access. For more details on PKP PN, see the high-level overview.

PKP PN is an open-access system available to all OJS journals, making it particularly attractive for journals that lack the resources to participate in a paid preservation service. It is also appealing to journals that add extra value to "open access." The PKP Preservation Network is secure, managed by PKP (a non-profit organization), utilizes open-source infrastructure (LOCKSS), and welcomes not only new journals but also new storage partners and collaborators.
