El sionismo es una ideología controvertida. Lo que para unos es un Movimiento de Liberación Nacional que ha permitido que el pueblo judío tenga un estado donde desarrollarse, para otros es un elemento racista que favorece la discriminación de otros pueblos que viven en la región y que no han tenido la opción de desarrollar un estado. En todo caso, los defensores de ambos planteamientos consideran que el sionismo es una ideología creada y defendida por judíos que ha sido clave para el establecimiento y supervivencia del Estado de Israel. Sin embargo, sesenta años antes de que Theodor Herzl escribiera el libro “El Estado Judío” ya existían importantes líderes cristianos que defendían la necesidad teológica de que los judíos volvieran a Palestina y que allí crearan un estado. Esta realidad, de nombre sionismo cristiano, es bastante desconocida y de no haber existido hoy no estaríamos hablando de Estado de Israel. Por ello, este trabajo tratará de descifrar en que consiste el sionismo cristiano y en qué medida ha contribuido a la creación y supervivencia del actual Estad
