For a reading of Giambattista Vico’s letters to Muzio Gaeta

Abstract

In this article we are discussing two letters dating back to 1737 that Vico wrote to reply to Muzio Gaeta, who he had sent him a text of a speech in honor of pope Bendict 13^th. Our aim is to demonstrate the relevance of these texts for a correct interpretation of the last phase of Vico’s production.
