Abstract
The aim of this article is to analyse the Vico’s inheritance in modern thought, especially in modern Italian thought. Starting from a division of this inheritance into periods, where the 19th cent. focuses on the viquian philosophy of history, the 20th pays attention to Vico as philosopher of language and the 21st shows up the thinker of the body, the article recognises in the “universale fantastico” (phantastic universal) the most relevant legacy of the Vico’s thought. This legacy has a critical influence on thinkers like Agambem, Deleuze and Esposito, as like as on writers as Pasolini.
