Abstract

This paper seeks to expose and analyze the fundamental notions of Heideggerian thought about modern technique. Serenity and thought open a perspective of interpretation of current problems regarding the exhaustion of the productive model of the contemporary world that brings a devastating danger to the earth and to the way of being human. At first moment, it is explained how the essence of the technique – Gestell – becomes a danger to the extent that it obstructs any other way of thinking that is not guided by the domain over the entity and, consequently, over the Earth. In a second moment, Serenity is investigated as a behavior indicated by the philosopher to face danger while lacking meditative thinking and the possibility of acting characterized by a desire to be.
