Legal language is a symbol of the most archaic culture in its prescriptive task of ordering the behaviour of citizens through rules. This custom has given grandiloquence and pomposity to a language that is interesting to say the least, because although efforts have been made to simplify it, its timeless nature has proved reticent in the face of the processes of modernisation. In this article, we propose to make a brief incursion into legal language as a specialised sector through its sectoriality and interdisciplinarity. Subsequently, a reflection on the problems of equivalence in legal translation will be outlined, covering competences and techniques. Finally, the main anisomorphisms in the Italian-Spanish combination will be presented and emphasis will be placed on the cultural ones, showing some differences between the two systems already dictated by the speciality literature and illustrating other new ones such as the perception of the environment and the contemplation of environmental laws in both legal systems.Downloads
