Résumé

El artículo aborda el libro Völkerrechtliche Großraumordnung de Carl Schmitt de 1939, como un lente teórico que nos permite comprender la actual crisis del discurso liberal universal y multilateral y la restauración de zonas de influencia geopolíticas evocado por el Gobierno actual de los Estados Unidos tanto, en su política exterior, como en sus recientes medidas en materia de extranjería y asilo. Este análisis se ciñe estrictamente a argumentos iusfilosóficos para comprender hasta qué punto hay coindencias entre el discurso alemán de no intervención de potencias ajenas de 1939 en Carl Schmitt, con el discurso estadounidense actual frente al extranjero y a las demás potencias. Se concluye que, en efecto, actualmente se configuran elementos similares a la propuesta de Grandes Espacios de Carl Schmitt que tendrían repercusiones de peso en el orden internacional; no obstante la política estadounidense choca con su propia tradición liberal universalista y con el propio artificio liberal internacional que se empeñó en construir y que hoy pretende desmontar. Por ello, un legado identitario vaciado impide que EE. UU. cristalice un bloque homogéneo cultural y civilizacional en el sentido del Großraum schmittiano
