The low periphery of double object constructions in English and Spanish

Resumen

En este trabajo exploramos la posibilidad de que las construcciones de doble objeto proyectan una periferia interna a la cláusula que contiene categorías funcionales específicas para las funciones de tópico y foco. Lenguas como el español presentan esta opción, mien- tras que estas categorías no se proyectan en lenguas como el inglés. Esta diferencia explicará la diferencia en términos de orden de palabras en ambas lenguas.
