Buena muestra de ello son los diferentes géneros en los que se ha recreado esta historia, que van desde la poesía, la narrativa o el teatro, hasta la ópera o el ballet. Los acontecimientos históricos que rodean a Inés de Castro son de por si atractivos al entremezclarse el amor con las luchas dinásticas medievales. Sin embargo, los numerosos hechos y personajes que han ido alterándose, e incluso añadiéndose, con el paso del tiempo han convertido a Inés en un personaje de leyenda y hasta en un mito.</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>The figure of Inés de Castro and her love affair with Don Pedro de Portugal, known as Pedro el Cruel, have inspired numerous artists throughout the ages. A good example of this are the different genres in which this story has been recreated, ranging from poetry, narrative or theater, to opera or ballet. The historical events surrounding Inés de Castro are in themselves attractive as love intermingles with medieval dynastic struggles. However, the numerous facts and characters that have been altered, and even added, over time have turned Inés into a legendary character and even a myth.</p> ER -
