De un lado está el texto periodístico, del otro, su sentido, su interpretación; de un lado la realidad noticiable, del otro la imagen que de esta nos entrega el lenguaje. Lo que está en juego no es la comprensión del lenguaje periodístico sino la interpretación del hecho-noticia mediante ese lenguaje. La cuestión del discurso periodístico hoy va más allá del qué, quién, cuándo, dónde, cómo, por qué y para qué clásicos de la noticia, para intentar responder: de quién(es) y hacia quién (es); desde cuándo y hacia cuándo; desde dónde y hacia dónde.
